Dr. Krull’s Resume
Dr. Melissa Krull has an extensive background in serving in leadership capacities of a 10,000 student school district for the past 20 years. As superintendent of schools for 10 years, Dr. Krull served as a liaison to the parent and business communities, to higher education, and to the legislative body of government. She traveled to China as a member of the Governor’s Trade Mission and has served on the board of directors for the following organizations: Association of Metropolitan School Districts (AMSD), Habitat for Technology (HFT), West Metro Education Program (WMEP) and was president for both the Eden Prairie Morning Rotary Club in 2009 and Mid-American Association of School Superintendents in 2010 She also served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce in Eden Prairie in 2010.Dr. Krull earned her undergraduate degrees at St. Cloud State University and her master’s degree in education from the University of Minnesota. She received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Education, Comprehensive Specialization in Work, Family, and Community from the University of Minnesota.She recently finished her work in Eden Prairie Schools after 28 years in the district with10 years as superintendent. She is widely known for successfully leading and completing a school integration initiative which intentionally eliminated racial and low income segregation for all elementary students in the district. She continues to follow her passion for public schools and leadership by building stronger communities for equity and social justice in Minnesota and around the country.Currently, Dr. Krull teaches in the Educational Leadership Graduate program for Minnesota State University, Mankato. She also consults nationally on school racial equity needs with attention to achievement gap work as it relates to systemic transformation
