Dr. Steve Miletto
Dr. Steve Miletto is Executive Director of the Heart of Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency and has been in public education for over 27 years, serving families as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and a high school principal. Dr. Miletto was the 2007 Atlanta Braves and AT&T Educator of the Year, 2009 (GASSP) Georgia Principal of the Year, and 2010 (NASSP/MetLife) Finalist for National Principal of the Year. In 2009, he was also recognized by the Ben Marion Institute for Social Justice as A True Shining Star for Social Justice. In May 2014, he received Honorable Mention in Tech & Learning’s Leader of the Year competition. Dr. Miletto has been trained in the development of successful classrooms through the Coalition of Essential Schools, Learning Focused Schools, and SREB’s High Schools That Work. Among his favorite leadership gurus are John Maxwell, Patrick Lencioni, and Seth Godin.
Dr. Miletto received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia and his Specialist in Education from the University of West Georgia. He holds a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville University.
